A mysterious encounter gives a young woman a new perspective on her relationship with her immigrant mother. This was my entry for round 1 of the NYC Midnight 2024 short story writing competition. It placed 7th.

A young man learns just how much he doesn't understand about the world. Set in a very magic-lite fantasy world. This story was written as supplemental material for my friend Adam's fantasy drama podcast.
