Hey there Shopify!
I'm excited at the prospect of joining your team! My friends at Shopify have nothing but good things to say about working there. I'm told the work is interesting and challenging, the people are approachable and supportive, and the design culture is strong and collaborative. I also spoke to Jasmine Santodonato in your recruiting department a few months ago and everything she told me said "good fit". And while the timing wasn't right with my family then, it is now!
A little about me: I've been working at D2L as Principal Product Designer for the past eleven years. It's an individual contributor role that's part of the design leadership team. My main focus has been leading design on large product initiatives, mentoring junior designers, and helping to grow the design function at the company.
I view myself as a generalist with broad experience across various design competencies, from strategy, to research to execution. I love hearing stories from users. I excel at coming up with clear, intuitive interactions, and I'm equally comfortable facilitating a workshop or presenting a design to colleagues, executives, or customers. I get energized when presented with a problem to solve. I will work really hard to ensure the product is a joy to use. I think I'd thrive in a collaborative culture like Shopify's.
